KENNETH FIRE
At approximately 2:40 pm, a brush fire erupted near the Victory Trail Head near the border of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. Fire crews are responding. An Evacuation Warning has been issued to residents in Oak Park area near Kanan Road and Agoura Road, east of Kanan Road to Deer Hill.

SANTA ANA WIND EVENT/SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON – PUBLIC SAFETY POWER SHUTOFF
Ventura County Sheriff’s Emergency Services and the National Weather Service (NWS) are monitoring a transitioning a Santa Ana Wind event. High winds are expected to return Thursday evening through Friday morning, prompting NWS to extend High Wind Watches through Friday.

Southern California Edison is monitoring 93 circuits for possible Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events, with a period of concern from Tuesday at 6pm through Thursday at 12pm, to coincide with peak wind intensities.

Southern California Edison has opened the following Community Resource Centers for customers impacted by this PSPS event. Each location will be open January 9th from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm and January 10th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Southern California Edison issued this statement to their customers acknowledging the current extended weather conditions that may prolong power outages:
Southern California Edison accepts claims for food loss due to Public Safety Power Shutoff events. Here’s what you’ll need:
- An itemized list of all spoiled food
- Receipts for the spoiled food or other documentation, including cost
- Complete an online claim form at Claims Online | Applications | Home – SCE
Be prepared to provide information on how you attempted to mitigate food losses by using ice or other methods. For additional help or questions, please call SCE’s disaster support line at 800-251-3311.
Southern California Edison’s Critical Care Backup Battery Program offers eligible customers a free portable backup battery to power your medical device in the event of a power outage. And, should the power outage be an emergency that requires you to evacuate, this portable temporary power may help while you relocate to safety.

GRIMES INCIDENT
Ventura County Fire crews are responding to a small crude oil spill in the area of Grimes Canyon Road south of Bardsdale Avenue between Fillmore and Moorpark. An Evacuation Order has been issued for residents on King Canyon Road south to the rock quarry. California Highway Patrol has closed Grimes Canyon Road.
