EXCESSIVE HEAT

 

Ventura County Sheriff’s Emergency Services, in partnership with Ventura County Public Health, is monitoring a multi-day heat wave that is expected to impact Ventura County through Monday. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued heat-related warnings for most non-coastal areas of the County from Saturday through Monday. Temperatures are anticipated to peak Sunday, with daytime highs in many locations of 95-105 degrees. Overnight temperatures will be cooler than during the last heat wave, with most areas ranging from the high 50s to mid 60s. For additional forecast details, visit the National Weather Service

FELICIA FIRE UPDATE – LAKE PIRU

 

Fire crews continue to make good progress on the Felicia Fire, and Ventura County Fire personnel anticipate achieving 100% containment by late Sunday, 10/6/2024. All evacuations and road closures have been lifted. However, travelers should remain alert for safety personnel and equipment in the area as mop up operations continue.

  • Highway 150 remains closed in both directions, from Stonegate Road in the City of Santa Paula to Thomas Aquinas College.
