Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Event

Ventura County Sheriff’s Emergency Services, in coordination with the National Weather Service, is tracking a moderate Santa Ana wind event that continues to impact Ventura County through Saturday evening. Southern California Edison (SCE) is currently monitoring 13 circuits for possible Public Safety Power Shutoff. SCE’s period of concern is from Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 12:01 a.m. through Saturday, October 19, 2024. at 3:00 p.m. For more information, please visit the incident dashboard below. Southern California Edison Community Resource Centers

Southern California Edison has established Community Resource Centers to support those impacted by a potential PSPS. These sites provide a safe location to recharge electric devices, and access PSPS event information.

EXCESSIVE HEAT

 

Ventura County Sheriff’s Emergency Services, in partnership with Ventura County Public Health, is monitoring a multi-day heat wave event. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued heat-related warnings for most non-coastal areas of the County from Saturday through Monday evening. Temperatures peaked Sunday, however daytime highs of 90 to100 degrees are still expected in many locations today. For additional forecast details, visit the National Weather Service.

  • Inland areas and coastal mountains, including: Lake Casitas-Ojai Valley, Oak View, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Piru, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Rose Valley, and the Santa Monica Mountains.
