FRANKLIN FIRE – LOS ANGELES COUNTY

Incident Summary

The Franklin Fire ignited at approximately 11:00 pm on Monday, December 9th, in Malibu Canyon area near Francisco Ranch and moved toward the Pacific Coast Highway. The fire is currently estimated at 4030 acres. Evacuations and road closures are still in effect as fire fighters from multiple agencies work to contain the fire. Weather Summary

Due to improved conditions, the National Weather Service cancelled the remainder of the Red Flag Warning for Ventura County as of 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 11, 2024.  Thursday through Monday bring the chance of light rain through a series of very mild storms. For more information on the forecast, visit the National Weather Service

Southern California Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS)

Due to improved conditions, Southern California Edison has discontinued monitoring the majority of circuits for PSPS. Remaining circuits without power are being inspected for re-energization. For questions regarding power restoration, or to submit a claim resulting from power loss,  please contact Southern California Edison or call 1-800-655-4555.

  • Businesses – Repair  or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery, equipment, inventory, etc. 
  • Economic Injury – to meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. 

STRUCTURE DAMAGE INFORMATION

Ventura County Sheriff Emergency Services and the Cal Fire Damage Assessment Team continue to assess and validate structures impacted by the Mountain Incident.
